Weather in Spain.

Spring: Is an ideal time to visit the central regions of Castile, Andalusia, the Mediterranean Coast, and the Balearic Islands. The climate is generally very good, but expect occasional rain.

Summer: Is a good season to visit the northern regions, especially the resorts along the Costa Blanca and Costa Brava, for less heat than in the southern coasts like Costa del Sol and Costa Tropical.

Autumn/Fall: Is perhaps the best season of the year to visit the entire country. The climate is excellent, with sunny days and blue skies.

Winter: Is a good time to visit the Mediterranean area along the Costa del Sol. The high mountain ranges in both the north and the south offer excellent conditions for winter sports.

Weather description by region..

Central Spain
Interior Madrid Climate is rather variable being influenced by both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, the interior has hot dry summers and is generally sunny at all times but the cold winters often bring snow to higher ground. . High summer is hot in most inland areas, including Madrid and the inland cities of Andalusia such as Seville and Córdoba. Big cities, especially Madrid, empty during August, with many shops and restaurants closing, though a visit then does have advantages, such as light traffic. You might want to consider a hotel with a pool if you are staying for more than a few days since touring in Spain's intense mid-summer heat will eventually wear you down.

Nothern Coast
Costa del la Muerte Asrurias - Summer along the northern coast of Spain, from the Pyrenees to Galicia, can be very pleasant and is generally an area not heavily inundated with tourists. The weather is not dissimilar to southern England, with many overcast and rainy days but pleasant temperatures and green landscapes more than make up for the lack of sun.

Costa de la Luz
Costa de la Luz weather is not as severe as the Mediterranean can be. For example, although the summers are hot, you do not get the intense Mediterranean heat. The winters are also very mild. Many people are surprised by the "greenness" of the Costa de la Luz. This is due to the moisture carried by the air from the sea and the abundance of rivers and lakessomething that many of us are not familiar with or used to in the south Spain.

Costa Calida
The Costa Calida
meaning "Warm Coast". Costa Calida weather allows for great golf and there are famous golf courses in the Torrevieja, Cartagena and Murcia area. The sea temperature on the Costa Calida fluctuates between 17°C in winter and 23°C in summer.

Costa de Sol
One of Europe's favourite holiday regions, the Costa del Sol run from the tip of Tarifa on the Costa de la Luz to Nerja on the edge of Costa Tropical. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year the Costa del Sol almost guarantees good weather for those looking for golf and beaches. The Costa del Sol weather forecast for most nights is clear and full of stars.

Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca has year-round weather. The humidity is low and is especially good for sufferers of arthritis.

Costa Dorada
Weather in Spain The Costa Dorada is a 10 mile stretch of beach that has become almost one huge resort comprising large, built-up areas alongside scores of unspoilt bays. Costa Dorada weather is considerably cooler in the summer than the Costa del Sol.

Costa Brava
The Costa Brava enjoys wonderful weather for most of the year. Costa Brava weather allows for excellent sporting activities including cycling, hand-gliding, parachuting, horse riding, hiking and golf. There are also watersports available at the numerous yacht clubs and marinas. Windsurfing, waterskiing, sailing and diving to name but a few.
